This tutorial еxplains how to install and manage YouTube SiSi.

Access YouTube SiSi.
Go to Shopify admin. From the left sidebar select Apps and click on YouTube SiSi.

Once completed, the settings should not be changed except for YouTube API key and YouTube SiSi gallery title. Otherwise, you risk a lack of consistency in the slider display on your product page.

YouTube SiSi uses the YouTube Data API (v3) key with limited quota. This means that you will be able to add a gallery of product reviews in 99 of your products for one key in an interval of 24 hours.
For your convenience, such keys are provided for testing purposes at the app settings.

For trouble-free operation, we strongly recommend that you acquire your YouTube Data API (v3) key.

 

Enter YouTube API key:

Enter your YouTube Data API (v3) key.

Enter number of results:

Refers to the number of videos shown in the gallery. 15 - 20 results are more than enough.

Select default search language :

Set the default language. Select your language from the drop-down menu.

Please note that results in other languages will still be returned if they are highly relevant to the search query term.

Select default search region :

 Set the default region. Select your region from the drop-down menu.

Please note that results in other regions will still be returned if they are highly relevant to the search query term.

Click Save.

 

Enter YouTube SiSi gallery title:

This title refers to the title of the product video review gallery. Take a look at the image below.

"YouTube Searches" is the title of the gallery.

You can choose whatever you recognize to be appropriate keyword to display as title on your gallery. Such examples can be:

• YouTube Searches
• YouTube Reviews
• Find more in YouTube

Click Save.

If you do not want the title to be displayed, leave this form blank or Delete it.

By filling in these settings, you have completed the main setup.

 

 

Next, We need to Show YouTube SiSi on your product page. There are two ways to do that. By adding Shopify 2.0 section or by adding liquid code.

let's start by adding Shopify 2.0 section first.

There is a requirement that must be met before you start. You need to have an Online Store 2.0 theme, such as Dawn, that uses a JSON template.

 

Click on "Customize theme".

Then click on "Customize".

On the very top of the page select "Products".

Click on "Default product".

 Next from the left sidebar select "Add section".

 

Click "Show more".

Then click "Add YouTube SiSi".

You successfully added the YouTube SiSi slider.

Click the "Save" button located in the top right corner.

If you want to remove YouTube SiSi go to the very bottom and click "Remove section".

 

 

YouTube SiSi using Liquid code.

Let's put this Liquid code {% include 'sisi.liquid' %} in its proper place.

Go to Shopify Admin > Home. Click Customize theme.

From your Live theme select Actions > Edit code.

 Go to Sections.

 

 Click on product-template.liquid file.

Product-template.liquid is a file responsible for displaying the Shopify product page. And {% include 'sisi.liquid' %} Liquid code is responsible for displaying the YouTube SiSi gallery. Now we need to put {% include 'sisi.liquid' %}  Liquid code in his proper place, inside the product-template.liquid file.

Let's find the very first <div tag. In this case located on the second row. 

Click on the small arrow located on the second row on the left side of the <div tag. This will collapse the code.

It should end up looking like this.

 Place {% include 'sisi.liquid' %} just below the collapsed code.

 Click Save. And we're finished with pasting the Liquid code.

 

 Let's continue by adding your first product review.

 

Go to Shopify Admin > Products > Click Add product.

Enter product title, along with additional details. Change the Product status to Active and Click Save.

 From More actions button select and click on YouTube SiSi.

 

You have successfully entered YouTube SiSi product settings.

 

 Search Keyword :

Make search term choices based on what might be the most relevant content for your customers to watch. For example, if you sell bananas, a good example would be to add the search term "banana health benefits". 

Sort by :

Sort setting that arranges the displayed videos. You can choose from Relevance, Date, Rating, Title, View Count.

Please note that "Relevance" value will give you the most accurate results.

Enter keyword > select Sort by: Relevance >and click on Get Videos.

It's a good practice to watch the videos shown. Choose the right combination of search terms and video sorting.

Please, note that each time you click on Get Videos the YouTube Data API (v3) key quota decreases with one search within the 24-hour window.

Once you make sure everything is in order, you can proceed to save videos.

Click on Save.
